Support & Inspiration for Girls & Young Women

It is painful to watch your teenage daughter struggling with self-destructive behaviors. You feel helpless and frustrated and your entire family can be affected. Child & Family offers support, intervention and skills to help bring the family through this difficult period.

Clinical Support For Difficult Problems Ophelia Programs can help with:

self-destructive behaviors
eating disorders
relational issues
mental health concerns
substance abuse
stress reduction

The program includes:

Professional clinical services
Assessment and referral
Individual, group and family counseling
Confidential services are conducted at our 19 Valley Road site

Our employees are qualified, carefully trained professionals. We complete all background checks required by law and licensing for all volunteers and employees.

Ophelia Fitness
Ophelia Fitness is a new component of the Ophelia Programs created and implemented in March of 2007. Ophelia Fitness introduces young women to fitness and overall wellness by offering distinct classes designed exclusively for young women. These classes address exercise, nutrition and stress reduction and are offered free of charge to young women in the Newport County Community. Classes include Yoga, Hip Hop, Tai Chi, Dance and Aerobics.

You’re Invited To The Ophelia Sessions
Girls and young women get together regularly over dinner to meet amazing women, talk about living life, meeting challenges and solving problems. They’re taking part in the Child & Family Ophelia Sessions. It is open to all girls from Newport County. Hear how successful women are making good lives for themselves and others. Talk about things that girls and teens, ages 11 through 18, really care about: everything from guys and relationships to career possibilities and creativity. It’s free.
