Volunteers and interns have enriched the lives of many and we at Child & Family are deeply thankful for your support. This year, a staggering 15,491 hours have been donated to our programs and services by 391 of you.

When a community comes together through the efforts of service to one another, change and growth are within reach.  Rhode Island residents assist in a wide variety of ways from helping with holiday food and gift programs, tutoring and yard work to administrative support.  We welcome volunteer applicants 14 years of age and older.

We’ll train you to…

  • Nurture a child
  • Mentor other parents (Parent to Parent)
  • Offer companionship to the homebound eldery (Friendly Visitor)
  • Share time, talent and experiences with children, adolescents or women in our Residential Services & Supportive Housing Programs
  • Assist counselors helping students in our programs for Children and Teens
  • Help with one-time projects like house painting or yard work
  • Provide clerical or administrative assistance or help with a special project

All volunteer and intern positions require an interview and some a background check.
