Why did you decide to foster? Our children grew up and moved out of the home. Suddenly our home was empty. We felt alone and we knew we wanted to continue parenting. We decided we wanted to help children in need of a home, so we decided to become foster parents.

How long have you been Foster parents? We have been fostering for about  9 years.

How many children have you fostered since you started fostering?
We have fostered 14 children between the ages of 11 months old to 17 years old.

Do you have children of your own? We have three adult children of our own. They are now 25, 32 and 34.

How would you describe your foster parent experience? Fostering has been an amazing experience. We have learned a lot. We have been exposed to different children from difference cultures. We have seen how we have been able to make a difference in the lives of the children who have come to our home. Some of the foster children are now in college and we continue to stay in contact with them.

What would you tell others who are considering becoming foster parents? Make sure your heart is in it.  If your heart is in it and you care for the children with love, you will be able to make a difference in their lives.
